In Bemidji, community members have been working in recent years to identify ways through which the greater region could become more “dementia-friendly.”
In 2014, we were selected as one of the sites for ACT on Alzheimer’s, a statewide initiative that aims at better preparing the state for the impacts of Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
This project was recently highlighted on Lakeland Currents. Click HERE to watch the video!
After lots of work by the ACT on Alzheimer’s Action Team (especially Fran King from the MN Indian Area Agency on Aging!), we have 1,000 magnets for giveaways at health fairs, workshops and other outreach opportunities. They include tips for Brain Health and some important resources for information and referral to local agencies.
Our message? Take good care of your brain! And if you have concerns, talk with your doctor or medical practitioner ASAP!
